The Saint Louis County Department of Health is hosting a Community Celebration from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12th, 2014, at our Health Campus at 6121 North Hanley Road in Berkeley (63134) to celebrate National Public Health Week and to highlight the services we offer to the public! We hope you are able to join us at what we expect to be one of the best health fairs of the year!
Many of the traditional things you expect at a health fair will be there – information about various health topics and free health screenings – but there will also be so much more! The Radio Disney Road Crew is going to be on site from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and there are going to be performances by Afriky Lolo and D.R.E.A.M.S. Orgs. Inc.! In addition, the Community Celebration will include:
- Face-painting by Cookie the Clown!
- Fire trucks from the Berkeley Fire Department!
- Free electronics recycling provided by RNA Worldwide! (more information below)
- Free and secure paper shredding provided by Cintas! (more information below)
- Music, displays, and giveaways!

PSA Screenings by Saint Louis University’s CCPRO
Saint Louis University’s Center for Cancer Prevention, Research, and Outreach (CCPRO) will be on site offering information on a variety of cancers, and free cancer screening for oral, head, and neck cancer, and free PSA screenings (Prostate-Specific Antigen blood test – a test for prostate cancer) for men ages 40 to 70 (35 to 39 if there is a family history of prostate cancer). Participants receiving a PSA screening will receive a letter from the Saint Louis University Division of Urology within two weeks containing the lab results.
RNA Worldwide Electronics Recycling
The free electronics recycling being provided by RNA worldwide will be a drive up and drop off operation. Complete information about what will be accepted can be found here.
Paper Shredding by Cintas
Cintas will be providing sealed, secure drop off boxes for any sensitive papers you need to be securely shredded and destroyed. Just bring whatever paper documents you want to safely dispose of and insert them in the box yourself! No one will have access to them except the company that shreds them offsite.
