Judge Craig J. Concannon was appointed in 2015 by St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger to serve as
Municipal Division Judge ofthe St. Louis County Municipal Court, West Division.
Judge Concannon received his B.S. degree, cum laude, in Business Administration, with an emphasis in
Accounting, from Saint Louis University, where he was a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, a national Jesuit
Honor Society. He received his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Saint Louis University School of Law, where
he was an editor on the Saint Louis Universitv Public Law Review and authored the article Central Bank
of Denver v. First Interstate Bonk: The End of Aiding ond Abetting Liability Under lO(b}-5 of the Securities
Exchange Act that was mentioned as "Worth Reading" in the National Law Journal. He was admitted to
the Missouri Bar in 1996, and is licensed to practice law in the States of Missouri, Illinois and Alabama,
as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh & Eighth Circuits, and the United States
District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.
Judge Concannon was a law clerk for the Honorable Kathianne Knaup Crane of the Missouri Court of
Appeals, and assisted as part of his duties in drafting over two dozen published legal decisions. He
entered private practice in 1999, and has represented clients in a wide variety of civil and criminal
matters. One such matter resulted in a front-page headline article in Missouri Lawvers Weekly, June 7,
2002, wherein he obtained a favorable result for a client in a civil suit against a major investment firm.
Another matter which received media attention in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch concerned a 2004 criminal
case wherein he secured the release of a defendant from a federal correctional institution after a
conviction that was based on fabricated testimony. In December of 2009, he represented a client in a
commercial litigation matter against numerous governmental entities, which was the subject of an ·
article in the St. Louis Business Journal, and was featured on KMOX radio in January of 2010. ·
Judge Concannon has represented criminal defendants in over 100 federal criminal cases involving
numerous trials. In one such case in 2012, he obtained an acquittal of his client in federal court after a
jury trial which lasted six weeks. This trial was one of the longest multi-defendant criminal prosecution
trials in the St. Louis area and resulted in another front-page article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Judge Concannon is a life-long resident of St. Louis County.
