Physical Agility Assessment

All police applicants are required to take a physical agility assessment examination. The recommended entrance performance standards are listed below. The results of the physical agility assessment will be forwarded to the applicant's sponsoring agency. Recruits are required to pass the physical agility examination at mid-term and at graduation as a condition of attendance and graduation. The physical fitness assessment exam is conducted at the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy, 1266 Sutter Ave., St. Louis, Missouri. (More Info)

Applicants should wear appropriate attire for participation in physical activities, i.e. gym shorts, T-shirt, running shoes and gym socks.

Recommended Entry Level Physical Agility Standards


  • Run 1.5 Miles: Must run 29 laps on an indoor track within the maximum time allowed
  • Sit-ups: Must be completed within one minute - proper form
  • Push-ups: Must be completed within one minute - proper form
