Maryville's Criminal Justice/Criminology department and the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy currently have a partnership that benefits everyone involved. As a Criminal Justice/Criminology major, you may elect to take the 916 hours of recruit training at the St. Louis C.M.P.A. as a 13-credit Capstone/Internship class in your senior year. Plus, once you complete the training and certification exam, you'll become a fully-certified law enforcement officer at the same time you receive your degree.
In addition to this, police officers that have completed coursework at the CMPA or another accredited Academy may enroll at Maryville University as an undergraduate student of Criminal Justice/Criminology and will be awarded 13 credit hours upon successful completion of one full semester of course work.
