Continuing Education Notices

Certificates Recommendation

The C.M.P.A. recommends that your department require those officers who attend training to present copies of their training certificates following the training date(s).

If there are questions concerning the number of training hours credited, please contact the Continuing Education Coordinator. Or phone: 889-8600 Monday - Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Dress Code

Appropriate Attire: Department uniform, dress slacks, shirt, and dress shoes or boots. A business suit, sports coat, jacket or sweater is optional. Female attire must be of equivalent propriety. Any change in the dress code will be explicitly mentioned in the course description.

Inappropriate Attire: Jeans of any style or color, T-shirts, athletic clothing, shorts, tennis shoes, inappropriately lettered or painted coats or jackets will preclude those wearing such items from attending Continuing Education or In-Service Training Programs.

Track and Fitness Center Access and Hours

Police and Fire personnel are welcomed to use the indoor/outdoor track and/or the fitness center during business hours. The hours are 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. These hours are in effect unless the gym or fitness center is being used for C.M.P.A. or Fire Academy instruction.

Since the gymnasium and fitness center are occasionally used for other activities, or have to be closed because of unforeseen circumstances, it is recommended to call ahead to make sure the facilities are available. Phone 889-8600 Monday - Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Anyone using the facilities is required to have the appropriate Police or Fire I.D. available.

Special Needs

The St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy programs and facilities are available for people of all abilities. If you wish to attend a program or meeting and require accommodations due to special needs, please contact the Continuing Education Coordinator.
