Captain Jeff Bader was born and raised in Southeast Missouri. He moved to St. Louis County and made it his home upon his employment with the Saint Louis County Police Department. He currently resides in the City of Wildwood and is currently assigned as a Commander in the City of Fenton Precinct.
In this position Captain Bader is responsible for the overall operation and management the precinct, which includes officers providing normal patrol service and the Neighborhood Policing Officers. The City of Fenton has contracted with the St. Louis County Police Department since 1995 to supply full police services. The Precinct has one captain, one lieutenant, two sergeants, twenty-two police officers and a police aide. As are the City of Fenton's police officers, the Department is committed to providing the most professional law enforcement service possible to the residents and businesses in the City.
Captain Bader began his career with the St. Louis County Police Department in September of 1983. Upon graduation from the police academy he was assigned to the South County Precinct. In his tenure with the Department, Captain Bader has served as an officer in the South County Precinct and the Tactical Operations Unit. As a sergeant with the Department he served as a Watch Supervisor in the South County Precinct and as the Supervisor for Basic Training at the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy. In 1995 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. As a Lieutenant, he has served as a Watch Commander within the Division of Patrol, the Commander of the Tactical Operations Unit, the Deputy Commander for the Bureau of Drug Enforcement, and as a Watch Commander in the City of Fenton Precinct. He was promoted to his current rank and position in 2009.
While with the Department, Captain Bader has served on a variety of committees to include: Chief's Committee, Grievance Review Committee, Chairman of the Neighborhood Policing Committee, and as the Department's Project Director with the Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Advisory Council (LETSAC).
Captain Bader holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Southeast Missouri State University. He has received training from the National Tactical Officers Association, the National Fire Training Academy, Gulf Coast HIDTA, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. He is the recipient of the Department's Purple Heart Award, Meritorious Service Citation, and a Chief's Commendation as well as a Medal of Valor from the Crusade Against Crime organization. His hobbies include reading, exercise, attending his children's athletic events, and following NCAA football.
