Hours of Operations

The Bureau of Communications functions on a full time basis. Full time is defined as 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. There are three shifts operating daily; Day Watch (6:30 am – 2:30 pm), Afternoon Watch (2:30 pm – 10:30 pm) and a Midnight Watch (10:30 pm – 6:30 am).

Staff is divided into three (3) Platoons with A and B Platoons trading day watch and afternoon watch shifts every 28 days and C Platoon assigned to permanent midnights. The shifts are staffed as follows:

  • A Platoon – One (1) PSD III, Three (3) PSD II and 21 PSDs
  • B Platoon – One (1) PSD III, Three (3) PSD II and 20 PSDs
  • C Platoon – One (1) PSD III, Three (3) PSD II and 18 PSDs
