Click It or Ticket to Boost Seat Belt Use

The St. Louis County Police Department is joining with other state and local law enforcement officers and highway safety advocates across the country to help save more lives by strongly enforcing seat belt laws around the clock. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2010 nationally, 61 percent of the 10,647 passenger vehicle occupants who were killed in motor vehicle traffic crashes overnight (6 p.m. to 5:59 a.m.) were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the fatal crash, compared to 42 percent during the daytime hours.

St. Louis County Police Participate in DEA Nationwide Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

On Saturday, April 28, 2012, the St. Louis County Police Department will again partner with the Drug Enforcement Administration in a prescription drug take-back initiative. This initiative seeks to prevent unused prescription medication from becoming available for abuse and to keep unused prescription medication out of the nation's water supply. The St. Louis County Police Department will be joining the Drug Enforcement Administration in collecting potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction. The D.E.A. will dispose of the collected drugs. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. Just deposit the unwanted drugs and leave.

St. Louis County Provides Full Police Services to the City Of Dellwood

St. Louis County Police had provided an Interim Police Chief, Lieutenant Norman Mann, to run the Dellwood Police Department.
