St. Louis County Police North County Precinct to Host Junior Academy

For Immediate Release

The St. Louis County Police Department North County Precinct will host a Junior Academy at the Black Jack Fire Protection District House #3, 5675 North Highway 67, Florissant, Missouri 63034. The St. Louis County Junior Academy (SCJA) is an eight week course, held eight consecutive Saturdays, beginning on May 4, 2013, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with graduation on June 22, 2013.

The SCJA is designed to familiarize participants with the operations of the St. Louis County Police Department and introduce them to the Police Explorer Program. SCJA cadets will have an opportunity to interact with police officers from various bureaus within the department, including K-9 Unit, Crime Scene Unit, Criminal Investigations Bureau, and the Special Operations Unit/Tactical Ops. The Police Explorer program provides experiences to help young people mature, become responsible adults, and prepare for a possible future in law enforcement.

The SCJA is open to all St. Louis County teenage residents, ages 14-18 years old, who may be interested in participating in the Police Explorer program. The SCJA is free of charge. Advanced registration is required and seating is limited. To obtain a registration form or other details, contact North County Precinct Officer Yvette Summy at or 314/438-4623.
