Arnold Man Arrested For Bank Robbery

For Immediate Release

On Saturday, July 27, 2013, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued warrants on Edward W. Starns, 30 years of age, of the 1700 block of Janet Drive, Arnold, Missouri, 63010, for one count of Robbery in the Second Degree and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance. A $100,000 cash only bond has been issued.

The investigation began on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at approximately 10:15 AM, when St. Louis County police officers from the South County Precinct responded to the First Missouri Credit Union at 1690 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, Missouri, 63125, for a report of a bank robbery. The suspect was described as a white male in his early thirties. He was believed to have left the premises and fled in a small to mid-size yellow Chevrolet. No weapons were displayed and no one was injured.

Starns was arrested on Friday, July 26, 2013 after information led police officers and detectives to the America’s Best Value Inn Hotel at 6602 South Lindbergh. Starns was discovered in a room and found in possession of a controlled substance believed to be heroin. Detectives from the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons interrogated the suspect and successfully obtained a warrant through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
