BRINGING THE PAST TO LIFE...VOLUNTEER AT OUR HISTORIC SITES
Jefferson Barracks Historic Site
First established in 1826, Jefferson Barracks served as a major military unit until 1946. Named in honor of former President Thomas Jefferson, the post played an important role in western expansion by serving as a gathering point for troops and supplies bound for service in the Mexican War through World War II.
Faust Historic Village
Structures in this recreated 19th century village are originally homes from the St. Louis County area, relocated to Faust in hopes of preserving the ways of living and the architectural styles from our past.
Museum of Transportation
With over seventy locomotives, the museum has the most complete collection of American rail power anywhere! MOT reflects the ever-changing nature of transportation with its collection of automobiles, busses, streetcars, aircraft, horse-drawn vehicles and riverboat material.
