Captain Marion "Monty" Monteleone was born in St. Louis City and now resides in unincorporated South St. Louis County with his wife, Mary, who retired from the County police department in 2002 after 29.5 years of service. Captain Monteleone is recinct Commander of the South County Precinct for the St. Louis County Police Department. In this position, he is responsible for the delivery of police services to the unincorporated residents within the boundaries of the South County Precinct as well as police services provided to the City of Bella Villa.

Captain Monteleone also serves on several committees. He is the chairman of the Weapons Systems and the Annual Memorial Breakfast and Plaza Ceremony Committees. He is on the steering committee of the yearly "Guns & Hoses" boxing event that benefits the Backstoppers organization where he has also fought four times as recently as 2004. He has participated as a major fundraiser for the St. Louis County Police Officers Welfare Association, Backstoppers and the Missouri Special Olympics. He has raised a total of over $250,000 for the three organizations. He was a member of the Presidential Debate task force in 2000 and 2004.

Captain Monteleone began his career with St. Louis County on January 6, 1975 and was assigned to the West County Precinct. In 1980, he was transferred to the Arson & Explosives Unit serving as a Bomb Technician and Arson Investigator where he was the first St. Louis County Detective certified as an Arson Investigator. He was promoted to Sergeant in September of 1984 and assigned to the South County Precinct. In 1985, he was assigned to the Affton Southwest Precinct and then later transferred to the Division of Criminal Investigation in 1987, specifically the Bureau of Special Investigations. In November of that year, he was transferred to the Bureau of Tactical Operations. In 1991 he was reassigned to the South County precinct as a patrol supervisor where he was promoted to Lieutenant in 1996. In 1997, he was assigned to the Metrolink Police unit as the Commander. He was assigned to his current command in 2009.

Captain Monteleone received a Bachelors Degree from National Louis University in 1996, with a major in Human Behavior. He has accumulated over 2,500 hours of training from the FBI, ATF, Secret Service, U.S. Army, the National Fire Academy, the Missouri Highway Patrol and various law enforcement organizations. He was received 27 awards and letters of recognition. In his off-duty time he enjoys traveling with his wife, hunting, fishing and working out.

Lieutenant Patrick Hayes came to St. Louis in 1993, and resides in Webster Groves with his wife Ann, who is also on the Police Department. Lieutenant Hayes has two children. He is currently assigned to the Division of Patrol as Watch Commander in the South County Precinct.

Lieutenant Hayes began his career in Law Enforcement with the Nebraska State Patrol in 1991. He joined the St. Louis County Police Department in April 18, 1993, and was assigned to the Affton Southwest Precinct as a Probationary Police Officer. After his first year he was assigned to the DWI Enforcement Unit. In 1995, he was assigned to the Bureau of Tactical Operations until his promotion in October 1999. As a Sergeant, he has served in the Division of Patrol in the South County Precinct, the Division of Special Operations in both the Community Action Team and the Tactical Operations Unit and the Division of Operational Support at the Police Academy as the Basic Recruit Training Supervisor. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2009.

Lieutenant Hayes has a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Central Missouri State University. During his career he has received over 50 awards, commendations and letters of appreciation, including five Commendations from the Chief of Police.

Lieutenant Hayes enjoys golf, shooting and camping in addition to spending time with his family. He is the first base coach for his son's baseball team and carries costumes for his daughters dance class. He is also a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society for his Parish.

Lieutenant Mason Keller is assigned as a Watch Commander in the South County Precinct. He is a lifetime resident of South St. Louis County, where he currently resides with his wife and three children.

Lieutenant Keller began his career with the St. Louis County Police Department as a Police Aide in the Personnel and Training Unit. Since that time, he has served the West County Precinct as a Police Officer and the South County Precinct as a Police Officer and a Neighborhood Policing Officer. H has also served as the Department’s Media Relations Officer and, after his promotion to Sergeant in 2005, as the Administrative Aide to the Chief of Police and in the Affton Southwest Precinct where he served as a Watch Supervisor and later as the Community Liaison Supervisor. He was reassigned to the South County Precinct upon his promotion to Lieutenant in 2009.

During his career he has received over 45 awards, commendations and letters of appreciation, including a commendation from the Chief of Police, Awards of Excellence and recognition from the Gateway Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and the Mehlville Optimist Club.

Lieutenant Keller graduated from St. Louis University High School in 1994 and earned Bachelors Degrees in both Psychology and Justice Systems from Truman State University in 1998. In 2004, he completed his Masters Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri - Saint Louis, where he was hired and currently teaches part-time as a member of the undergraduate faculty in the Criminology and Criminal Justice Department. He is also actively involved in raising funds and awareness for the Missouri Special Olympics. Lieutenant Keller is an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and Blues Hockey fan and enjoys home improvement projects, playing softball and spending time with his family.

Lieutenant Matthew O'Neill was born and raised in South St. Louis. He currently resides in South St. Louis County with his wife and four daughters. He is currently assigned to the South County Precinct as a Watch Commander.

Lieutenant O'Neill began his career with the St. Louis County Police Department in 1990. His first assignment was as a Patrol Officer in the Affton Precinct, where he also served as a Field Training Instructor. In 1997 he was transferred to the Division of Criminal Investigations, assigned to Crimes Against Persons as a Detective. During his time as a Detective in Crimes Against Persons, Lieutenant O'Neill investigated Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, Sex Crimes, Internet Pornography, Robberies, and Homicides.

Lieutenant O'Neill was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2003 and was assigned to the Division of Patrol in the Central County Precinct as a Watch Supervisor. He was later transferred to the City of Fenton Precinct until his promotion to Lieutenant in 2007.

Lieutenant O'Neill received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Sergeant Butch Albert began his career with the St. Louis County Police Department on June 28, 1981. He was born and raised in Maryland Heights and graduated from Pattonville High School and Northeast Missouri (now Truman) State University.

Sergeant Albert served as a patrol officer and Burglary detective in the North County Precinct and a detective with the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons prior to promotion to sergeant in 1997. He served as a watch supervisor in the North, South, and West County Precincts and the Bureau of Security Services prior to his current assignment.

Sergeant Albert has also served as an investigator and deputy commander with the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis. He is a member of The BackStoppers, International Association of Homicide Investigators and St. Louis County Police Association. In both 2006 and 2008 he was elected as 1st Vice President of the Missouri Fraternal Order of Police.

Sergeant Russ Dabbs joined the St. Louis County Police Department on January 6, 1975, and has served in numerous assignments. During his career he has received several awards including the Meritorious Service Citation. Before becoming a member of the Department he received a Bachelor's Degree in Education and an Advanced Certification/Masters in History. Prior to his completing college, he enlisted in the U.S. Army during which time he served in Vietnam where he received six decorations.

Sergeant Dabbs is married and has a daughter and a son.

Sergeant Jeff Hoots began his career with the St. Louis County Police Department in November 1992 as a Police Aide. He worked as an Aide to the Director of the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy until January of 1993 when he entered into Police Recruit Class 127 as a Police Recruit. Sergeant Hoots graduated the Academy and was assigned to the South County Precinct as a Patrol Officer. While assigned to the South County Precinct, Sergeant Hoots was responsible for a beat in the Lemay area where he worked as a Precinct Gang Officer.

In March of 1997 Sergeant Hoots was assigned to the Bureau of Drug Enforcement as a Detective in the Anti-Gang Unit - Street Enforcement Team. In March of 1998 Sergeant Hoots sustained an injury to his knee and was temporarily assigned to the Bureau of Communications while he recovered from his injury. Sergeant Hoots also served for few months in the Personnel Services Unit as a Background Investigator for applicants. When Sergeant Hoots recovered from his knee injury he was reassigned to the Bureau of Drug Enforcement as a detective in the Special Investigations Unit where he investigated crimes of morality, murder for hire, liquor violations and other crimes.

After spending two-and-a-half years in the Special Investigations Unit, Sergeant Hoots went back to the Anti-Gang unit and then was assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration's Federal Drug Task Force as a Task Force Agent. In February of 2003, Sergeant Hoots was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned to the Affton Southwest Precinct as a Patrol Supervisor. In June of 2004, Sergeant Hoots was transferred to the Bureau of Drug Enforcement where he supervised a team of long-term undercover detectives that acted in an undercover capacity buying large amounts of illegal narcotics. In June of 2005 Sergeant Hoots was assigned to the West County Precinct as Patrol Supervisor and then to his current position as a Patrol Supervisor in the South County Precinct.

Sergeant Hoots has also served on the St. Louis County Clandestine Methamphetamine Lab team. He has attended the Drug Enforcement Administration's National Academy at Quantico, VA for lab training and money laundering investigations. Sergeant Hoots has been to the Special Reaction Team Basic Swat course conducted by the United States Army Military Police at Fort Leonard Wood.

Sergeant Hoots has received two Chief's Commendations, ten Awards of Excellence, 23 letters of appreciation, the Administrators Award from the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Distinguished Service Award from the United States Attorney for the Eastern District for his drug investigations while assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration's Federal Task Force.

In his free time Sergeant Hoots enjoys the outdoors by fishing and hunting.

Sergeant Jeff Hunnius began his career with the St. Louis County Police Department in March 1998, after working eight years for the City of Chesterfield Police Department. He was assigned to the First Precinct from March 1998, till July 2001, then transferred to the Crime Scene Unit in July 2001, until June 2008. Sergeant Hunnius was promoted to Sergeant and is currently assigned to the Fourth precinct as a watch supervisor.

He is married with two children (girl and boy), and currently lives in St. Louis County.

Sergeant David Ryan was born and raised in St. Louis County. He resides in the South County area with his wife and two sons. Sergeant Ryan is currently assigned to the South County Precinct, as the NPO/SRO Supervisor.

Sergeant Ryan graduated from Culver Stockton College with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters of Management degree from Fontbonne College. St. Louis County hired him in 1995 and assigned him to the Affton Precinct. Since that time he has served as a detective in the Bureau of Drug Enforcement where he helped established a specialized unit in charge of methamphetamine investigations.

In 2001 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Since then he has been assigned to the South County Precinct and the Bureau of Drug Enforcement. Sgt. Ryan continues to build strong relationships with the community while promoting the values of the St. Louis County Police Department.

During his years with the St. Louis County Police Department he has earned numerous awards, commendations and letters of appreciation. When not at work he enjoys spending time at the lake with his family.

Sergeant Robert Shelvy was born in Kirksville, MO and moved to St. Louis with his family as a child. He resides in South County with his wife Jan. Between them, they have six children and five grandchildren. He is a graduate of Columbia University and holds a Bachelors Degree in the Administration of Justice. Sergeant Shelvy is an avid Bass fisherman and enjoys working with computers.

Sergeant Shelvy began his career with the department as a Record Room Clerk, while still in High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy, serving aboard a nuclear submarine. From there, he transitioned to military police duty in Saigon, South Vietnam. On completing his military obligation, Sergeant Shelvy joined the police department in October 1970 and graduated with top academic honors in his class. Since his commission, he has served as a field-training instructor for new patrol officers. He has previously been assigned to the Division of Criminal Investigation in both the Fugitive and the Burglary Units. He served as a training detective for newly assigned investigators and taught investigative skills in the police academy.

Sergeant Shelvy was promoted in January 1983 and has served as a training supervisor for newly promoted Sergeants. He has chaired pre-employment oral boards, presided over other law enforcement agency promotional boards and has authored several operation manuals, procedures and policies for the units he has been assigned. He has served in every precinct within the department and currently is assigned to the South County Precinct as a Watch Supervisor.

Sergeant Shelvy has received numerous Awards of Excellence and Letters of Appreciation.

Sergeant Brad Wendling was born in the City of St. Louis and raised in South and West St. Louis County. His interest in law enforcement began in 1982 when he became a member of the St. Louis County Police Department's Law Enforcement Explorer Program. In 1989 Sergeant Wendling became a reserve police officer with the City of Chesterfield, Missouri. In 1990, he was hired as a commissioned officer by the Chesterfield Police Department serving until 1994. During his service with the Chesterfield Police Department, he was assigned to the Bureau of Uniform Patrol, where he functioned as a patrol officer and as a crime scene investigator. Sgt. Wendling also served in the Department's Bureau of Criminal Investigation as a Detective.

In 1994, Sergeant Wendling was hired by the St. Louis County Police Department and served as a patrol officer in the Affton Precinct. In 1994 and 1997 Sergeant Wendling was appointed as an investigator with the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis. In 1995, he was appointed as a field training instructor and was responsible for training twenty-three officers over a six-year period. In 2001, he was promoted to Sergeant. Sergeant Wendling has worked as a watch commander in the South County, Affton-Southwest Precinct, Fenton Precinct and is currently assigned to the South County Precinct.

Sergeant Wendling has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management and Organizational Behavior from the University of Missouri St. Louis. He has two children and currently resides in Ballwin. Sergeant Wendling has received twenty-seven awards, commendations and letters of appreciation.

Officer Jansen joined the department in 1999 and is a member of the Crisis Intervention Team and is certified in bicycle patrol. Officer Jansen is currently assigned to the South County Precinct as one of the Neighborhood Policing Officers. In his current assignment, Officer Jansen works with the community to solve problems, coordinates Neighborhood Watch activities and organizes special events. Officer Jansen is also responsible for coordinating the Crime Free Multi Housing Program for the precinct. This program is designed to help apartment owners, managers, residents, police, and other agencies work together to keep illegal and nuisance activity off rental properties.

During his career Officer Jansen has received numerous awards and letters of appreciation.

Officer Mike Schira was born and raised in South St. Louis County, where he currently resides with his wife and son. Officer Schira had four years prior police experience before beginning his career with the St. Louis County Police Department in 2001. Officer Schira is currently assigned to the South County Precinct. He served as a patrol officer within the precinct. While in the South County Precinct, Officer Schira was reassigned as a Neighborhood Police Officer (NPO) for the Lemay Sector.

During his service as an NPO, Officer Schira has served as a member of the Department's Neighborhood Policing Committee, Precinct Neighborhood Watch and National Night Out coordinator. Officer Schira also works with Project Lemay, Neighborhood Preservation Strategy Committee and the South Chapter of the St. Louis County Police Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association.

Officer Schira graduated from Hancock High School in 1992 and has earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from St. Louis Community College. During his career Officer Schira has received numerous letters of appreciation and Department awards.

Officer Dan Schroeder was born and raised in St. Louis and now resides in the South County area with his wife. Officer Schroeder graduated from CBC High School in 1992 where he went on to attend Southwest Missouri State University majoring in Business. Officer Schroeder is currently assigned to the South County Precinct as the Neighborhood Police Officer for the Oakville sector.

Officer Schroeder has over ten years of law enforcement experience, five of which have been with the St. Louis County Police Department. During those five years he has been assigned to the South County Precinct. For the past two years Officer Schroeder has served as the Business Resource Officer at South County Mall, where he helped form working partnerships between businesses and the police department.

During his career he has earned numerous awards, commendations and letters of appreciation. When not at work he enjoys spending time with his wife riding their horses.
