Metro Area Employment Data St. Louis Metro Area payroll jobs (not seasonally adjusted) were reported as increasing at a 0.6% rate with 8,100 jobs gained between October 2010 and October 2011 resulting in a total of 1,308,600 jobs.

2009 County Income Data In 2009 St. Louis County had a per capita personal income (PCPI) of $52,214. This PCPI ranked 1st in the state and was 144 percent of the state average, $36,181, and 132 percent of the national average, $39,635 (source: U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis).

County Employment and Wage Data for 3rd Quarter, 2009 St. Louis County had 568,800 wage and salary workers covered by unemployment insurance in September 2009, down 5.7% from September 2008. compared to a -5.3% decrease nationwide. Average wages increased by 0.2% compared to a nationwide decline of -0.1%.
