The County Auditor's Department is responsible for the independent internal audit of the functions performed by St. Louis County Government. It is our goal to provide objective assessments of the operations, and provide quality feedback to management in order to enhance the quality of services provided by St. Louis County Government.
Internal Audit at St. Louis County Government is an independent function established for the review of accounting, financial, and operating activities as a service to St. Louis County Council and Management. It is the policy of the Council to maintain an internal audit function as an integral component of the internal control environment. This function is to be performed by the County Auditor’s Office. This Charter was approved by the St. Louis County Council and sets forth the County Auditor’s Office to purpose, authority, and responsibilities.
