Steve Stenger was raised in Affton not far from where he now resides. At a very young age Steve’s parents, Pete and JoAnn, instilled in Steve the values of hard work and determination. His father supported the family working as a telephone lineman with Southwestern Bell for more than forty years. Steve, along with his sisters and brother, attended St. Dominic Savio Catholic Grade School and Bishop DuBourg High School. While in high school, Steve was on student council, a gifted singer, and played football.
Following his education at DuBourg, Steve put himself through college at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL), and within three years graduated with honors and his degree in accounting. Immediately following graduation from UMSL, he passed the Missouri Certified Public Accounting Exam on his first attempt. Steve went on to study law at St. Louis University School of Law (SLU Law) in 1993. During his time at SLU Law, he served as Assistant Editor of the St. Louis University Law Journal going on to graduate with honors in 1996.
