The Honorable Brenda Stith Loftin
Associate Circuit Judge, Division 33

Judge Loftin was appointed associate circuit judge in March 1993.

Judge Loftin completed her undergraduate work at the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a Bachelor of General Studies degree. She received her Juris Doctorate degree from St. Louis University School of Law.

After engaging in private practice, Judge Loftin served as an assistant prosecuting attorney in St. Louis County from 1989 to 1993 as a member of the felony trial staff.

Judge Loftin is a faculty member of the Missouri Judicial College, a member of the Missouri Supreme Court Trial Judge Education Committee, the Missouri Supreme Court Coordinating Commission for Judicial Branch Education, Chairperson of the Judicial Orientation Planning Committee. She is vice president of the National Association of Women Judges and immediate past president of the board of directors of Catholic Services for Children and Youth and the Links, Inc. Archway Chapter. She is on the board of directors of the National Center for State Courts.

Judge Loftin and her husband live in St. Louis County. They have one child.
