The Honorable Thea A. Sherry
Associate Circuit Judge, Division 35

Judge Sherry was appointed an Associate Circuit Judge in 1998 by the Honorable Mel Carnahan. She is presently assigned as the Juvenile Judge.

Judge Sherry received her B.A. in History from the University of California, Riverside and her J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis.

Prior to serving on the bench, Judge Sherry was in private practice. She also served as a law clerk at the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, and was an Assistant Public Defender in St. Louis County.

Judge Sherry currently handles child abuse, neglect, delinquency and adoption matters. She continues to serve as a member of the St. Louis County Domestic Violence Council, is past co-chair of the Missouri Task Force on Children's Justice, and is a member of the Supreme Court Family Court Committee. She was recently appointed by the Supreme Court as chair of the Child Support Guidelines Review Subcommittee. Her bar membership includes the St. Louis County Bar, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Lawyers Association, the Women Lawyers Association, and the National Association of Women Judges.

Judge Sherry has been active on the boards of several community and school district organizations. She is a frequent speaker and presenter on various topics of the law.
