The Honorable Thomas J. Prebil
Circuit Judge, Division 4

Judge Prebil was appointed Circuit Judge on June 10, 2009.

Judge Prebil received his Bachelor of Arts degree at St. Louis University and his Juris Doctorate Degree at St. Louis University School of Law. In 2006 Judge Prebil completed the mediator training course and was certified by the Washington University School of Law.

Following service with the Army Reserves in the Signal Corp, Judge Prebil served as an Assistant Public Defender in the City of St. Louis from 1972 to 1975. In 1975 Judge Prebil entered private law practice, concentrating on Federal Employers' Liability Act cases, and engaged in civil trial practice until his appointment to the Circuit Court.

Judge Prebil is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the County Bar Association, and the Lawyers Association.

Judge Prebil and his wife reside in St. Louis County. They have three adult children.
