Goals

  • As the newest member to the Council, Steve’s goals mirror those of the residents and businesses of South County. During his service here, he hopes to reform county government to ensure it is both more responsive and more accountable to those it serves and to the taxpayers who pay for it.

Biography

Education

  • Steve was raised in Affton not far from where he now resides. While growing up in South County, he attend St. Dominic Savio’s and later graduated from Bishop DuBourg High School. After high school, Steve obtained his B.A. in accounting at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and became licensed as a certified public accountant.

Work History

  • After working in the field for a few years, he decided to pursue a law degree. Steve graduated from St. Louis University School of Law 1996 and is now a partner at Klar, Izsak & Stenger. Prior to being elected to the County Council in November of 2008, he also served as the prosecuting attorney of a local community from 2005-2008.
