    County Youth Programs

County Youth Programs (CYP), one of the three divisions in the Office of Family and Community Services, plans, develops, and provides service for children and youth. The Dropout Initiative (1998) has a multi-component program called Doors to Success (DTS) which impacts the youth population between the ages of 16 and 24 in areas where the rate of high school dropout is high. The comprehensive model includes outreach, case management, GED preparation, remedial education, job readiness and placement, life skills education and counseling.

The Summer Food Service Program for Children contributes to positive youth development by providing nutritious breakfasts and lunches at community sites for children ages 3 to 15. The Outstanding Student Leadership Program involves county high schools in indentifying and recognizing seniors considered leaders in academics, athletics, and community service.
