job seekers with job opening information, resume preparation, job search seminars, career assessment,
career exploration, internet access for job search activities, computers and reference materials to
make your job search easier in addition to a variety of job training programs that include:

Programs and Services
Adult Education & Literacy/GED
The Adult Education and Literacy program
accepts those seeking GED training and/or academic remediation. Adults may participate
in High School Equivalence (GED), GED on-line and other computerized distance
learning program. English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Literacy
enhancements are offered.

Adult Services
Adult Services are available to those who
meet the low income guidelines and are unemployed or underemployed.
The Missouri Career Center - Saint Louis County offers staff to assist you
with your on-line job search. Our Resource Center has available a resource
library, fax machines, computers, printers and access to the internet.

AARP
The AARP provides employment training
and assistance to those ages fifty-five (55) and older. For those
ages fifty-five (55) and older, who meet income qualification guidelines,
the AARP provides training through the Department of Labor Senior Community
Service Employment Program. The AARP Employment Specialist is available at
the Missouri Career Center - Saint Louis County on Mondays from 10:00
a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Dislocated Worker
Dislocated Worker Services
are available to those who are unemployed due to layoff
or company closure. The Missouri Career Center - Saint
Louis County offers staff to assist you with your on-line

Ex-Offender Services
As one of over 18,000 ex-offenders
released from the Missouri Department of Corrections annually, it
is important that you are prepared to re-enter the workforce. The
Missouri Career Center - Saint Louis County has trained workforce
development professionals ready to assist you with your job search.
We can assess your current skills, assist you with preparing a resume,
and invite you to job/career fairs. Registration on MissouriCareerSource.com,
Missouri's premiere internet-based job search engine, is required.

Parents' Fair Share
The Parents' Fair Share Program is based on the
idea that both parents are responsible for supporting their children. This
Program assists parents with increasing their ability to meet their child's
emotional and financial needs by helping the parents to become self-sufficient.

The Resource Center
The Missouri Career Center - Saint Louis County
provides a public access space called "The Resource Center" to do on-line

Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA)
The purpose of the Trade Adjustment Assistance
Program is to assist workers who become totally or partially unemployed as a
result of increased imports. Participants in the Program must be dislocated
from companies that have been Trade Act certified by the United States
Department of Labor.

Unemployment Insurance
The Missouri Division of Employment Security and
the Missouri Division of Workforce Development have developed strategies that
allow more claimants to access re-employment services sooner, to lead them to
suitable employment and to reduce Unemployment Insurance (UI) claim duration.
To file an initial claim please call (314) 340-4950. The Missouri
Career Center - Saint Louis County serves UI claimants during normal business hours
(Monday through Friday) from 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Please note that
this service is not available during our extended hours of operation.
Veteran's Services
The "Key to Career Success" campaign is
sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor and designed to connect veterans
with workforce services offered by the over 3,000 Career Centers located
throughout the United States. We are proud to partner with the U.S. Department
of Labor in their Campaign to assist veterans in accessing high quality employment
opportunities.
