Mapping and Data
The Research and Statistics Division provides information and data analysis services, internally for the Department of Planning and other County departments, as well as externally for municipalities, businesses, organizations, and citizens.
Mapping Services
One of the most important functions of this division is using Geographic
Information System (GIS) technology to create maps and datasets that inform local decision making,
and support the needs of private firms and external public agencies.

Data Services
The Division is also responsible for preparing and publishing the St. Louis County Fact Book in addition to supplying summaries of census data for boundary changes and community studies. Research and Statistics staff review and analyze legislation, and analyze fiscal data for the Department of Administration.
Web Services
Division leadership and staff collaborate with other departments in maintaining the County's internet site and developing new content.
