Physical Agility Assessment

All police applicants are required to take a physical agility assessment examination. The recommended entrance performance standards are listed below. The results of the physical agility assessment will be forwarded to the applicant's sponsoring agency. Recruits are required to pass the physical agility examination at mid-term and at graduation as a condition of attendance and graduation. For those applicants who are accepted, but fall below the recommended entry level standards, evening classes will be held for approximately six weeks before the class starts. These classes will be held at the CMPA and supervised by an Academy Staff Instructor to introduce future recruits to the physical training regimen. Contact the Basic Training Supervisor for questions at (314) 889-8600 or email by clicking here.

The physical fitness assessment exam is conducted at the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy, 1266 Sutter Ave., Wellston, Missouri. (More Info)

Applicants should wear appropriate attire for participation in physical activities, i.e. gym shorts, T-shirt, running shoes and gym socks.
