St. Louis County’s Continuum of Care (CoC) is a collaboration among service providers that offers both prevention strategies and homeless assistance programs to those at-risk of or are experiencing homelessness. The CoC and partnering agencies offer the following resources:
Most importantly, the CoC conducts a biannual count of the homeless population. These counts provide an overview of the County’s homeless population and resources available to address housing crises. The CoC uses this information to develop strategic systems to direct services, funding and resources.
In 2014, the Homeless Hotline answered 5,300 calls from individuals seeking shelter or who were experiencing a housing crisis. The CoC was able to provide shelter and services to 3,000 men, women and children.
