Recruit Class #185 Participates in Race 4 Domestic Violence Prevention’

On Saturday July 25th basic recruit class #185 of the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy participated in the ‘Race 4 Domestic Violence Prevention’ 5K in Carondelet Park in St. Louis, MO. Recruit Class 184 SFST Training

On Friday May 8th the recruits of class #184 completed their Standardized Field Sobriety Training (SFST). The night included a DWI wet lab in which six volunteer drinkers were invited to the Academy and supplied with various amounts of alcohol. The recruits were given the task of performing field sobriety tests on each drinker to determine a) whether or not the subject was intoxicated, b) the approximate level of intoxication, and c) whether or not to arrest/not arrest the subject based on the results. On December 6, 2008, the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy was granted Accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Public Safety Training Academies and was re-accredited on the same date in 2011.
