NOTICE OF RUN OFF ELECTION FOR NON-PARTISAN JUDICIAL COMMISSION
21ST JUDICIAL CIRCUIT
You are hereby notified that an Run Off election for the 21st Judicial Circuit Non-Partisan Judicial Commission will be held on Saturday December 12, 2015. Voting is done electronically at www.courts.mo.gov/election/ajc.nsf. After you log on to the website, you will enter your Missouri Bar number and PIN number, typically found on the lower right corner of your Missouri Bar card, and then follow the instructions for voting. You must be a resident of St. Louis County and in good standing with the Missouri Bar in order to vote in this election.
You may vote at any computer that has access to the Internet by using the above address. Computer access is available in the St. Louis County Court Building located at 105 South Central Avenue, Clayton, Missouri. Computer access is also available in St. Louis County Public Library locations. Voting at these locations must be done during regular business hours. You may cast your vote now. You must cast your vote before midnight,
December 11, 2015.
Any person who wishes to apply for a position as a Circuit Judge or an Associate Circuit Judge in St. Louis County must
apply to the 21st Circuit Judicial Commission. The commission then submits the names of three candidates to the Governor who may appoint any one of the three. If the Governor does not appoint one of the three within 90 days the 21st Circuit Judicial Commission may then select one of the candidates for the judicial position.
The 21st Circuit Judicial Commission was created as part of the Non-Partisan Court Plan. There are five members of the 21st Circuit Judicial Commission. The chair of the commission is the Chief Judge of the Missouri Court of Appeals - Eastern District. Two other members are citizens who reside in the circuit and who are appointed to the 21st Circuit Judicial Commission by the Governor of Missouri. The other members are two lawyers elected by the attorneys who reside in the 21st Judicial Circuit. Each member, whether elected or appointed, serves a six-year term.
