Summer Day Camps

SOUTH COUNTY

Camp Kennedy at Kennedy Recreation Complex                      
Ages: 5-12
Cost: $65/camper
Days/Times: Monday - Friday / 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Children are grouped by age and enjoy crafts, games, nature programs, a special event cookout, sports and supervised recreational swim at Kennedy Recreation Complex. Camp is located at Suson Park on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Camp is located inside of the Kennedy Recreation Complex on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Bring a non-perishable lunch, snack and beverage daily. For an additional cost swimming lessons and Sunrise/Late Day Club memberships may be purchased. Magical Mystery Camp (Abra-Kid-Abra)                    
Ages 6 -12
Cost: $175/camper
Location: Pavilion at Lemay
Your kids will learn new magic tricks each day, often treating their parents to a nightly show! Campers will weave their tricks into a mystery show, which they will create and perform the last day for their families!  In learning magic, theater, and improv, your kids will develop their presentation skills and confidence while having a lot of fun in the process! Ages 6-12

Make a coin someone is holding disappear or make a person appear from nowhere! You’ll get your own magic box and new tricks to show friends and family and you’ll learn comedy magic skits, balloon twisting, magic puzzles and lots more. Animation Camp (by Youth Tech Inc.)
Ages: 9 - 15

In this class students will learn the basics of animation and digital design. Students who enjoy going to various sites to see fun interactive animations will love this course. This class will utilize Adobe’s award winning animation software in Adobe Flash. (Early Bird Care available 7am-9am for the above dates for $20 per week and Late Bird Care available 3-6pm for $30 per week) (For the 4 day July 5-8 week, Early Bird care will be $16 per week and Late Bird Care $24 per week)

Outdoor Skills Camp 
Ages: 12-16
Cost: $150/camper
Location: GRC/Queeny Park
Attention outdoor enthusiasts!  If you ever wanted to learn to throw a tomahawk or shoot a bow and arrow, this is your chance.  Spend a week learning new outdoor skills.  This camp, hosted by St. Louis County Park staff, will teach outdoor skills in a variety of settings. Our unique camp will travel to several different parks, giving campers opportunities to visit a variety of areas while testing the waters on new skills. Learning the correct way to control a canoe, starting a fire with flint and steel, and hiking to a cave are just some of the experiences you will enjoy.   Knowledgeable staff and close supervision will allow the adventuresome camper to spread their wings in a safe and controlled environment.  Attempting new skills will be challenging as well as fun.  Age restrictions apply.  Space is limited, so sign up early.  For questions or to make your reservation, call 314- 615-8472.

Youth Fishing Day Camps

St. Louis’ only “fishing” day camp is a big hit with kids! St. Louis County Park Rangers conduct the camp where children spend the week learning to be good anglers. Each day the group will venture out to a new fishing location. Meet in front of the Recreation Complex off of the Weidman Road entrance. Meet promptly at 8:30 a.m. Each child should bring their own non-perishable lunch and two water bottles. Fishing equipment will be provided. Advance registration is required. Call 314-615-4386.

Our two-week session day camps offer many sports, crafts, theme days, nature programs, cook outs, and swimming daily. Unger Park roads are open to the Riverside Trail Parking lot, however, the Riverside Trail remains closed beyond this parking lot.


The Grant's Spur along Grant's Trail was severely damaged during periods of heavy rain. For safety reasons, this short trail has been closed.


Bohrer splash pad is closed pending water main repair.  


Restrooms at Ohlendorf Park will reopen Saturday (8/18). Porta-Johns will remain onsite until Monday (8/20).


Greensfelder Memorial Shelter at Creve Coeur Park will be closed Monday, 8/20, for hazard tree removal.
