Effective May 21, 2018, the Department of Planning Receptionist hours will be 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Documents, plans and other items may be delivered or dropped off until 5:00 P.M.
On the second or the third Monday of each month, the Planning Commission holds a public hearing at 7:00 P.M. Check Current Public Hearing Notice for meeting times and agendas. The next public hearing is scheduled for August 20.

The Land Planning Section, a division of the Department of Planning, enforces the County's Zoning Ordinance by processing and analyzing petitions for changes in zoning, special procedures, and variances to the zoning regulations. The Land Planning Section also researches and proposes ordinance amendments to ensure that the Zoning Ordinance is effective in regulating land use. Additionally, the Section conducts and coordinates plan reviews of commercial, industrial, and residential development in unincorporated St. Louis County by the St. Louis County Planning Commission .
