County Council Committees
Committees are given oversight responsibilities concerning the subject matter within its jurisdiction and the departments of St. Louis County Government, for which it has responsibility, in order to:
Assist the Council in its analysis, appraisal, and evaluation of the application, administration, execution, and effectiveness of legislation enacted by the Council
Assist in conditions and circumstances which may indicate the need or desires of enacting new or additional legislation
Committees review and study any conditions or circumstances which may indicate the necessity or desirability of enacting new or additional legislation within their jurisdiction. Their ongoing research helps forecast matters within their jurisdiction.
Committees shall also consider any questions or matters as directed by the County Council or the Council Chairman.
