Biography | Kelli Dunaway (D)

Councilwoman Dunaway was elected on August 6, 2019 in a special election to fill the seat vacated by County Executive Sam Page. 

She took her oath of office and seat on the dais August 13, 2019. Kelli is also the Director of Learning & Development at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP, where she is the architect of firm wide professional development programs and policies, and an innovator in the delivery of lawyer learning.

A former bankruptcy lawyer, Kelli found her calling in helping people and communities rise to their greatest potential through coaching, learning, mentoring, and a culture of transparency. An industry thought leader, she has published a number of articles and regularly presents on innovation in lawyer professional development. 

A proven leader, Kelli is a collaborator and facilitator who combines strong people skills with natural curiosity to uncover problems, find solutions, and lead teams to execute those solutions with energy and passion.

Councilwoman Dunaway is a Fellow with the Truman National Security Project, a founding director of the St. Louis Chapter of the New Leaders Council, and a member of the California Bar. Kelli received her J.D. from UCLA and her B.A. in History from Southern Illinois University.
