From June 1, 2020 until the conclusion of the Collector’s tax sale, which begins on August 24, 2020,

ONLY CERTIFIED FUNDS (Cashier’s Check or Money Order)

will be accepted for payment of delinquent real property taxes for 2017 and prior years.

Payments should be made to 'Collector of Revenue' and may be mailed to or dropped off in the lobby of 41 S. Central Ave in Clayton, MO 63105.

On July 21, 2020, a $20.00 publication fee will be added to all delinquent real property tax bills for 2017 and prior years.

Payment in full can be made online, but our website cannot accept partial payments.

NO EXCEPTIONS.

Real Property Tax Sales

The Saint Louis County Collector of Revenue’s office conducts its annual real property tax sale on the fourth Monday in August (08/24/2020).

Due to COVID-19, the 2020 St. Louis County Annual Collector of Revenue’s Real Property Tax Sale cannot be conducted in its usual format and location and has moved to SEALED BIDS ONLY this year.

All persons participating in the sale must register, utilizing the notarized registration form. The completed and notarized form, and current verifiable picture identification must be submitted to our office in advance of the sale.

We encourage all participants in the 2020 Annual Tax Sale to complete and return their registration form as soon as possible. Out-of-State bidders MUST appoint a local agent.

Once you have been registered, you will receive an email confirmation with your assigned bidder number and instructions on how to place a sealed bid.

There will be no changes in registration made after the fact, except for a properly noted assignment of the certificate of purchase.

Upon receipt of your bidder number, you may submit your sealed bid via the Collector of Revenue’s drop box in the lobby of 41 S. Central, Clayton MO 63105, beginning Friday, August 21, 2020.

Remember that you are bidding on a tax lien certificate for properties with three or more years of delinquent taxes. This is different than an outright home purchase: you will not have immediate ownership or access to the property. Be sure to carefully research the property and applicable redemption period prior to bidding - all sales are final.

The deadline for bid submission is Wednesday, August 26, 2020, 5pm CST.

Sealed bids will not be opened by until the close of business Wednesday, August 26, 2020 5pm CST.

Illegible Registration or Bid forms will not be accepted.

After the bid evaluation process has been completed and documented, the winning bids will be published on St Louis County’s website.

In compliance with Sections 140.150, 140.170, 140.290 RSMo, an additional fee of $30 will be added to all parcels sold at the time of sale to cover the costs of recording of the certificate of purchase.
