Nomination Requirements

Each nominee is assessed across three award criteria: committing to sustainable system changes with community impact in the field of behavioral health, providing quality research and/or clinical services to the community, and vision for the future with long-term solutions. Nominees must meet the following criteria listed below and complete the nomination form and submit a resume or CV.

  • Completed Nomination Form
  • Current Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Completed documents should be sent to Alicia Smith at [email protected] by February 28, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.
  • The award will be presented at the St. Louis American’s Salute to Excellence in Healthcare Luncheon on Friday, April 26, 2019.
Minimum Mental Health Award Criteria
  • An African-American mental health or public health professional
  • A resident of the St. Louis region
  • A master’s degree or appropriate state certification in mental/public health or related field
  • Fifteen (15) years’ experience in mental/public health or a related field
  • Experience of the candidate must have a youth component satisfied through work in education, volunteer work or professional practice
  • Professional or volunteer efforts should include a St. Louis County Children’s Service service area
